009. Inception

Our first Christopher Nolan film comes your way this week while we review Inception on 4K Blu-ray starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tom Hardy, Ellen Page plus many others. The disc is presented in a true 4K resolution (3840×2160) with surprisingly no Dolby Atmos track but a DTS HD 5.1 track.

We provide you 2 technical tips this time around! One via a voice question sent to us from Jay of the Dead from Considering the Cinema and Horror Movie Weekly. We answer his question about Backlighting and we discuss the Lighting Zones on 4K TV’s. Next, before our grading of the Inception disc quality, we let you know about Region-free 4K discs which is a huge selling point for this format. These little tips will continue onwards up until Episode 17 or so. A little extra for you to learn why the hosts believe the 4K format is such a valuable asset and makes cinephiles smile from ear to ear.

New shows are launching every week throughout the summer on Thursdays. Then our typical schedule of bi-weekly will commence.
